Observation
Start by visually inspecting the groin and scrotum area. Look for any asymmetry or changes in appearance. Bear in mind that the left side of the scrotum is naturally lower than the right.
Palpation of the testicles
Examine each testicle separately. Gently pull each testicle forward using the thumb and index finger of one hand and carefully palpate it with the other hand.
Checking the structure
Examine the consistency of the surface of the testicle. Look out for any hardening, lumps or unevenness. If you notice any changes, consult a doctor.
Palpation of the vas deferens/sperm duct
Finally, palpate the sperm duct, which is a firm, movable cord that protrudes from the epididymis. Its presence is normal.
